Wineries In The Ozarks

Located among several communities in the environs of the DragonFly-In Bed & Breakfast are four excellent wineries and a wine cottage.  They can be visited individually, although some may want to spend a full day touring them collectively, on a circle route we call the Vintners’ Tour.

Vance Vineyards & Winery in Fredericktown is located on the homesite of an early nineteenth century German settler, and its tasting room construction and décor are done in the German architectural style.  Visitors can easily imagine themselves in the Rhine Valley wine region of Germany.

Also in Farmington is the newest of the group, Sand Creek Vineyard, which opened in 2008.  Along with their wines, hosts Dave and Lisa Ikemeier also offer beer on tap.

The various wineries often provide live music and special events on weekends.

Twin Oaks Vineyard & Winery in Farmington planted its first vines in 2000, but four generations of its owners, the Hutson family, can be seen picking grapes at harvest time.    Visitors can enjoy luncheon under its 350 to 400 year old oak trees, for which the winery is named.

St. Francois Vineyards is located in Park Hills.  Farmer-turned-winemaker Ed Daugherty will be your host in this stylish Parkland region winery.
